Obituary of William Louis Douglas, Jr.

Graveside Services for William Louis Douglas, Jr. of Wentzville, MO will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 23, 2021 at the Davis Cemetery near Elsberry. Rev. Stephen McLane, pastor of New Hope Baptist Church near Elsberry, will officiate. Mr. Douglas, 80, passed away Monday evening, September 23, 2021, at Delmar Gardens on the Green in Chesterfield. Born November 15, 1940 in Clayton, MO, he was the son of William Louis and Ida Dawson Davis Douglas, Sr. Bill served his country in the United States Navy from May 4, 1963 until his honorable discharge on May 3, 1968. He worked as an Industrial Engineer and Mechanic for Escambia County, FL. Bill was a historian who compelled “Gone But Not Forgotten.” He was a member of the Lincoln County Historical Society. Bill collected antiques and Japanese and Chinese figurines. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Ida Douglas, Sr.; and one sister, Joanne Dreadin. Survivors include many relatives and friends. Memorials may be made to Charity of the Donor’s Choice in care of Carter-Ricks Funeral Home, 107 S. 5th Street; Elsberry, MO 63343.
