Obituary of Ernest Dell Potts

Graveside Services for Ernest Dell Potts of Foley, MO will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 14, 2021 at Star Hope Cemetery near Elsberry, MO. J. Larry Carter, of Carter-Ricks Funeral Home, will officiate with inurnment in Star Hope Cemetery near Elsberry, MO. Mr. Potts, 67, passed away Tuesday morning, July 20, 2021 in Winfield, MO. Born April 16, 1954 in Troy, MO, Ernie was the son of Delbert Martin and Anna Marie Summers Potts. Ernie was a 1972 graduate of Jersey High School in Jerseyville, IL. He served his country in the United States Army. Ernie worked for Hillside Nursery for 33 years, retiring in 2005. He owned C &E Park, retiring in 2019. He was preceded in death by his parents, Delbert and Anna Potts. Survivors include his special friend, Carol Herring of Winfield; his daughters: Breanna Smith and her husband, Craig, of South Jacksonville, IL and Vanessa Finnegan and her husband, Blaine, of Belleville, IL; and two grandchildren: Jackson and Isla Smith. Ernie also leaves one sister, Debi Anders and her special friend, Todd Whelwell of Murryville, IL; other relatives and friends.
