Obituary of John William Colyer

Memorial Services with Full Military Honors for John William Colyer of Moscow Mills, MO will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, August 8, 2021 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Winfield, MO. Fr. Richard Rath, pastor of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church near Old Monroe, MO, will officiate. Mr. Colyer, 57, passed away Sunday, August 1, 2021 at his home. Born February 26, 1964 in St. Louis, MO, he was the son of Edward Adolph and Marie Frances Lukefahr Colyer. John served his country in the United States Marine Corps. He was a 1983 graduate of Brussels Community High School in Illinois. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and riding motorcycles. John worked for Boeing, TWA, American Airlines and AVMATS. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Marie Colyer; and his son, John Edward Colyer. Survivors include his daughters: Daniela Pedraza of Somerville, MA and Vanessa Colyer of St. Charles, MO; and his former wife, Lulu Brinker of Springfield, MO. John is survived by seven brothers: Edward Colyer of St. Louis, Thomas Colyer of St. Louis, Steven Colyer of St. Louis, Joseph Colyer and his wife, Mary, of O’Fallon, MO, Henry Colyer of Winfield, James Colyer and his wife, Patty, of St. Charles County, MO and Robert Colyer and his wife, Sandra, of Foley, MO; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. John is also survived by his three loyal dogs: Sweetie, Ellie and Hazel. Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until time of the Memorial Service at 3:00 p.m. at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Winfield.
