Obituary of Jesse Lee Hines

Jesse Lee Hines Funeral Services for Jesse Lee Hines of Foley MO will be held at 12:00 noon on Wednesday, July 21, 2021 at the Corinth Christian Church near Foley. Rev Scott Groshong, church pastor, will officiate with burial in Corinth Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Eric Bothe, Jeff Bothe, Dale Hines, Darrin Hines, Jerry Heitman and Larry Noble. Mr. Hines, 86, passed away Friday morning, July 16, 2021 at Barnes-Jewish St Peters Hospital, in St. Peters, MO. Born December 28, 1934 near Foley, MO, he was the son of Delmer Lee and Pauline Elizabeth McClellan Hines. He attended Foley Public School and Elsberry High School, graduating in 1953. Jesse served his country in the U.S. Army from December, 1956 until he was honorably discharged in December, 1958. He began working as a laborer in commercial construction, and later worked for Lever Brothers and Missouri Petroleum. Jesse was employed for many years by MEMC as a wafer slicer, retiring in 1999. While working, Jesse still continued to help on the family farm. Jesse was united in marriage on June 30, 1967 in Florissant, MO to Avis Marie Helton. With this union he gained two daughters, Ava and Debbie. He was a lifelong member of the Corinth Christian Church. Jessie served on the board of Corinth Cemetery and was the sexton for several decades. He was preceded in death by his parents, Delmer and Pauline Hines; and his sister Shirley Wilson. Survivors include his beloved wife of 54 years, Avis Hines, of Foley, MO; two step-daughters, Ava Bothe, and her husband, Bob, of Winfield, MO, and Debbie Brandt, and her husband, Jim, of Wheatfield, IN; five grandchildren: Eric Bothe, Jennifer Schulte and her husband, Jerry, Jeff Bothe and his wife, Kelly, Deidra Curry and her husband Charles, and Ramona Bellmore and her husband, Josh; eleven great-grandchildren and four great, great-grandchildren He also leaves one brother Dale Hines and his wife, Cathy, of Millstadt, IL; several nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 12:00 noon Wednesday, July 21, 2021 at Corinth Christian Church near Foley.
