Obituary of Richard Eugene Lamb

Funeral Services for Richard Eugene “Rich” Lamb of Elsberry, MO will be held at 12:00 noon Thursday, July 1, 2021 at the Elsberry United Methodist Church. Rev. Floyd Gudde, church pastor, will officiate with burial in the Elsberry City Cemetery near Elsberry. Serving as pallbearers will be Joe Reed, Dave Hatcher, Nathan Reed, Tommy Helfer, Johnnie Lamb, Hoss Skirvin, Alex Gambill and Nathan Albright. Mr. Lamb, 40, passed away Thursday morning, June 24, 2021, the result of an automobile accident near Elsberry. Born November 1, 1980 in St. Charles, MO, he was the son of Johnnie Eugene and Karen Holt Johnson Lamb. Rich was a carpenter, working for Nathan Creech in residential construction. As a union carpenter, he was a member of Local #32 in Wentzville, MO. He was a member of the Elsberry United Methodist Church. Rich loved spending time with his daughter, his love, his mom and extended family. Rich enjoyed hunting, fishing and anything involving the outdoors. He had a love for music and playing his guitar. He spent time volunteering as a carpenter for Special Spaces St. Louis creating dream bedrooms for children facing challenging illnesses; worked on the St. Jude’s house in St. Louis; helped with an Eagle Scout project; and spent many weekends helping friends and family with projects. He had a heart of gold and would show up to help at the drop of a hat. He was loved by many and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Rich was preceded in death by his father, Johnnie Lamb, Jr. in 1991; his uncle, Robert “Bob” Dwiggins; his paternal grandparents, Johnnie and Charm Lamb, Sr.; and his maternal grandparents, Richard and Dorothy Johnson. Survivors include his mother, Karen Lamb of Elsberry; his life partner, Carly Welch and their daughter, Mylie Lamb, both of Elsberry. Rich also leaves his half-brother, Johnnie Lamb of St. Charles; his niece, Shelby Lamb of O’Fallon, MO; his Aunts and Uncles: Rein & Roberta Luik of White Plains, NY, Judy Dwiggins of Troy, MO, Madelyn & Thomas Helfer of Elsberry, and Janice Tippit of St. Charles; several cousins: Lacy & Todd Gambill of Troy, MO, Jaime & Joe Reed of Wentzville, MO, Thomas & Shanna Helfer of Troy, Levi & Jennifer Love of Elsberry, Billie & Amanda Tippit of Highland, IL, Cassidy & Sarah Tippit of Farmington, NM, Mati & Veronica Luik of White Plains, NY and Kylie & Scott Riser of Davidsonville, MD; other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until time of the service at 12:00 noon, Thursday, July 1, 2021 at the Elsberry UMC.
