Obituary of Thomas Edward Thoman
A Mass of Christian Burial for Thomas Edward Thoman of Old Monroe, MO will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, April 19, 2021 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church near Old Monroe. Fr. Richard Rath, church pastor, will officiate with burial in Immaculate Conception Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Thomas Thoman, Ken Stadler, David Lammers, Paul Thoman, Tom Schuman and Phil Thoman.
Mr. Thoman, 87, passed away Wednesday morning, April 14, 2021 at his son’s home in Weldon Spring, MO. Born April 1, 1934 in St. Louis, MO, he was the son of Edward Joseph “Bud” and Vera Wallenbroock Thoman. Tom was a 1952 graduate of Ritenour High School. He was united in marriage on May 7, 1955 at All Souls Catholic Church in Overland, MO to Marian Ruth Stadler. This union was blessed with two children: Diane and Dan. Tom served his country in the United States Army. He was employed as a sheetmetal worker for McDonnell Douglas Aircraft. Tom was a longtime member of Immaculate Conception Church. He was a Charter Member of the Illinois-Missouri Tractor & Engine Club; and restored and exhibited many antique engines and vehicles over the years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bud and Vera Thoman; many inlaws; and his beloved wife of 64 years, Marian Thoman, who died on December 4, 2019.
Survivors include his children: Diane Goldman of Salinas, CA and Dan Thoman and his wife, Janna, of Weldon Spring; and three grandchildren: Makenzie, Sophie and Thomas Thoman. Tom also leaves one sister, Marilyn Lammers and her husband, Frank, of St. Charles, MO; one brother, Ed Thoman and his wife, LaVerne, of Chesterfield, MO; two sisters-in-law: Fern Raftery of Bridgeton, MO and Elsie Skrivan of Overland; one brother-in-law, Robert Stadler of Overland; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. Sunday, April 18, 2021 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Winfield and again from 9:00 a.m. until the time of Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, April 19, 2021 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.
