Obituary of Paul Eugene Tobias

Paul Eugene "PT" Tobias passed away peacefully, with his loving family by his side on Saturday, March 13, 2021 at the age of 83. Born on May 29, 1937 to George William and Dorothy Bell (nee: Chaplin) Tobias; Beloved husband of 50 years to Carole Louise (nee: Brewer) Tobias; loving father of Corey Lynn Tobias (Amy), Sonja LaJeanne Richardson (Terry), Robert Lee Blackwood, Jr. (Pharrah); dear grandpa and PaPa to Elijah Wyatt Tobias (Leah), Jackson Oakley Tobias, Jennifer Marie Winsel (Rob), Michelle Renee Riffle (Lindell), Aaron Paul Wyrick, Tristen Tariq Richardson, Gabe Ashanti Richardson, Trevion Teshaun Harvey, Jacob Heath Blackwood (Chelsea), Taryn Paige Wells (Colton); dear great grandpa of Morgan Renee Pokorny, Rally Nicholas Wyrick, Robert Joseph Winsel, III, Ryan Jacob Winsel, Jameson Heath Blackwood, Finley Renee Blackwood and Merrick James Wells; Paul is also survived by his children from his first marriage Paula Lovell, Dorothy Lehenbauer Wright, Billy Shinn, Larry Shinn and their families; cherished brother of Nancy Douglas and her late husband Dick, the late Gerald Tobias, Ellis "Fuzz" Tobias, Russell Tobias, Delphine Reeder, Georgia Williams, Betty Moore, Leta Ralph, Helen Spangler, and Linda Politte; Paul was a brother-in-law, uncle, cousin and friend to many. "Pt" was one of a kind and if you asked him he would tell you. He owned and raced sprint cars around the Midwest in the 60's, 70's and 80's. He owned and operated Tobias Automotive for several years in Elsberry. Paul was an over the road truck driver for over 30 years and over 2 million miles. He was known for his "stories" and telling a good, although sometimes inappropriate joke. If he loved you, you knew it, if he didn't, you knew it as well. Paul will be missed by all that knew him. A memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, March 27, 2021 from 10:00 am until a celebration of life service at 11:00 am at Star Hope Baptist Church, 1953 MO-79 Elsberry. Memorial donations are preferred to the Warren County Ambulance District. The family is being served by Hutchens-Stygar Funeral and Cremation Center.
