Obituary of Norma Fay Ballew

Funeral Services for Norma Fay Ballew of Troy, MO, formerly of Elsberry, MO will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, February 27, 2021 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry. Rev. Roger Briggs, pastor of the Star Hope Baptist Church near Elsberry, will officiate with burial in the Elsberry City Cemetery near Elsberry. Serving as pallbearers will be J.R. Chambers, Greg Cox, Mason Chambers, Randy Ballew, Adam Lybarger and Connor Lybarger; and honorary pallbearers will be Ariel Piechoinski and Sabrina Huddleston. Mrs. Ballew, 85, passed away Sunday morning, February 21, 2021 at St. Joseph Hospital, West in Lake St. Louis, MO. Born May 13, 1935 in Piedmont, MO, he was the daughter of Norvin F. and Vesta Lorene Doney Jenkins. Norma was a 1953 graduate of Piedmont High School. She was united in marriage on January 9, 1954 in Piedmont to James Albert Ballew. This union was blessed with two children, Randy and Nancy. Norma was employed for many years as an electronic technician at McDonnell-Douglas Aircraft Manufacturer in St. Louis, MO, retiring in 1993. She was a member of Star Hope Baptist Church near Elsberry. Norma was preceded in death by her parents, Norvin and Lorene Jenkins; one daughter, Nancy Austin on August 1, 2010; and her beloved husband of 43 years, James Ballew, who died September 17, 1997. Survivors include one son, Randy Ballew and his wife, Carol, of Troy; four grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren. Norma also leaves her son-in-law, Bob Austin of Elsberry; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until time of the service at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, February 27, 2021 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry.
