Obituary of Stephen Phillip Hessling

Funeral Services for Stephen Phillip Hessling of Troy, MO will be held at 7:00 p.m. Friday, February 26, 2021 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Winfield, MO. Rev. Kris Hagemeier, pastor of the Elsberry First Christian Church, will officiate. Stephen, 42, passed away late Thursday morning, February 18, 2021 at SSM St. Louis Hospital in St. Louis, MO. Born April 18, 1978 in Troy, he was the son of Leonard and Deanna Berry Hessling. Stephen was a 1996 graduate of Winfield High School. He was united in marriage on September 11, 2004 in St. Charles, MO to Tami Rothmeyer. This union was blessed with two daughters: Aubrey Helene and Kayden Marie. Stephen worked as a commercial carpenter. He was a member of St. Louis Carpenters Union Local #32. He loved to hunt, fish and go boating. He was preceded in death by one sister, Sandra Korman; one brother, Jeffrey Hessling; and one nephew, Gary Nelsen. Survivors include his beloved wife of 16 years, Tami Hessling of Troy; their daughters: Aubrey and Kayden, both of Troy; and his parents, Leonard and Deanna Hessling of Winfield. Stephen also leaves one sister, Lisa Nelsen of Winfield; and his parents-in-law: Craig Rothmeyer and his wife, Vickie, of Wentzville, MO and Phyllis Beaster and her husband, Daniel, of Jackson, MI. Steve was very close to his nieces and nephews, as well as other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until time of Funeral Services at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, February 26, 2021 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Winfield.
