Obituary of Joseph Roy Bebee

Private Family Funeral Services for Joseph Roy Bebee of Winfield, MO will be held on Thursday, February 4, 2021 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Winfield. Rev. Kris Hagemeier, pastor of Elsberry First Christian Church in Elsberry, MO, will officiate with burial in Whispering Winds Cemetery near Winfield. Mr. Bebee, 83, passed away Saturday, January 30, 2021 at SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital-St. Louis in Richmond Heights, MO. Born December 8, 1937 in Many, LA, he was the son of Joseph D. Bebee, Maggie Martinez-Bebee, and stepmother Catherine Bebee. Joseph was a graduate of Zwolle High School in Zwolle, LA. He served his country in the United States Air Force from June 26, 1956 until his Honorable Discharge on June 25, 1960. Joseph was united in marriage on October 13, 1957 in St. Louis, MO to Marita Geraldine Martin. This union was blessed with two sons: Joseph and Chris. Joseph worked as a Contract Estimator for McDonnell-Douglas, retiring in 1994 after 31 years of employment. Joseph was also a Tribal Elder of the Choctaw-Apache Tribe of Ebarb, LA. An active and avid outdoorsman, Joseph was an accomplished sportsman and marksman. He was the founder and former Scoutmaster for Boy Scout Troop #390 in Troy, MO and a District Commissioner for the Boy Scouts of America where he was also the recipient of the Daniel Boone Award for excellence in his service. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph D. Bebee, Maggie Martinez-Bebee, and stepmother, Catherine Bebee. Survivors include his beloved wife of 63 years, Geraldine Bebee of Winfield; their sons: Joseph L. Bebee and his wife, Carlla, of Gallatin, TN and Christopher Bebee and Elaine Landwehr, of St. Charles, MO; four grandchildren: Tony, Devin, Matthew, and Brendan; and three great-grandchildren: Arabella, Tyler, and Brayden. Joseph also leaves three brothers: Rayford Bebee, Steve Bebee, and Louis Bebee; two sisters: Vernell Provost and Vickie Smith, all of Texas; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
