Carter-Ricks Funeral Homes Phone 573-898-2181 / Fax 573-898-3148 Newspaper Notice of Death William Henry "Bill" Reeves, Sr. Funeral services for William Henry "Bill" Reeves, Sr. of Elsberry, MO were held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 18, 2006 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry, MO. Rev. Gene Stewart of Elsberry, MO officiated with burial in Oak Ridge Cemetery near Elsberry. Serving as pallbearers were Roy Morris, Blake Wilson, Brian Wilson, Jess Simpson, Rick Wood and William Harrell. Honorary pallbearers were Robert Watts, Caleb Reeves and Charles Harrell. Mr. Reeves, 80, died Sunday morning, October 15, 2006 at his residence in Elsberry, MO. Born December 29, 1925 in Lincoln County, MO, he was the son of Roll Oscar and Mary Martha Langford Reeves. He served his country in the United States Army during World War II from March 1, 1944 until being honorably discharged May 23, 1946. He was united in marriage on December 15, 1948 in Troy, MO to Mary Allene Joslyn. This union was blessed with one son, William Henry "Billy" Reeves, Jr. A lifelong resident of Lincoln County, he was self-employed for many years as a farmer and he also worked for many years as a carpenter for B & B Construction in Elsberry, MO. He was a member of the Carpenter's Local #1875 in Winfield, MO. He was preceded in death by his parents, Roll Oscar and Mary Reeves; one sister, Mary Lucy Reeves, who died in 1940; one brother, Harry Reeves, who died September 15, 1997; two nephews: Darrell Reeves and Allen Reeves; one sister-in-law, Ollie Reeves, who died January 31, 1999; his son, Billy Reeves, who died August 17, 1998; and his beloved wife of 42 years, Mary Allene Reeves, who died May 31, 1991. Survivors include one brother, Charlie Reeves of Elsberry; one granddaughter, Amanda "Mandy" Reeves of Elsberry; three great-grandchildren: Caleb, Joslyn and Danielle; one daughter-in-law, Glenda Reeves McCoy; one special niece, Bonny Harrell and her husband, Bill, of Elsberry; several other nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Visitation was held was held from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 17, 2006 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry. Memorials may be made to the Oak Ridge Cemetery in care of Carter-Ricks Funeral Home, 107 South Fifth Street, Elsberry, MO 63343.
