Obituary of Mary Lou Schulte
A Mass of Christian Burial for Mary Louise Schulte of Old Monroe, MO will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 5, 2021 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Old Monroe. Father Richard Rath, church pastor, will officiate with burial in Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Old Monroe, MO. Serving as pallbearers will be Kevin Schulte, Jeff Schulte, Barry Duello, Matthew Schulte (in memoriam), Todd Schulte, Tom Schulte, Dan Schulte, Bart Schulte and Dennis Schulte (in memoriam); and honorary pallbearers, Mike Gilbert and Gary Gilbert.
Ms. Schulte, 77, passed away Friday morning, January 1, 2021 at her home in Old Monroe. Born February 19, 1943 in Old Monroe, she was the daughter of George William and Catherine Caroline Dreisewerd Schulte. Mary Lou was a graduate of Winfield High School in Winfield, MO; and attended Lindenwood College in St. Charles, MO. She was employed for many years as an operator for Southwestern Bell and AT&T, retiring as a manager of Operator Services on December 30, 1991. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Church and the Ladies Sodality. Mary Lou was an active volunteer at the St. Vincent DePaul Society at Old Monroe, Relay for Life and the Circle of Hope Bracelets.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Catherine Schulte; one sister, Rita Marie Gilbert and her husband, Jay; and five brothers: Robert J. Schulte, Daniel E. Schulte, Leonard C. Schulte, William A. Schulte and Edward Schulte.
Survivors include four brothers: Allen Schulte and his wife, Brenda, Herbert Schulte and his wife, Louise, and Gene Schulte and his wife, Carol, all of Old Monroe, and Jim Schulte and his wife, Carole, of Winfield, MO; three sisters-in-law: Elsie (Mrs. Robert) Schulte of Troy, MO, Diane (Mrs. Leonard) Schulte of Winfield, and Elaine (Mrs. William) Schulte of Troy. Mary Lou was the honorary grandmother to the families of Julie and Pat Flynn, Mike and Elaine Mueller, Diane and Jack Brinkman and Darrell and Patti Mueller; also leaving several nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Monday, January 4, 2021 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Winfield.
