Obituary of Elsie Mae Hyde

Funeral Services for Elsie Mae Hyde of Winfield, MO will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield. Clifton Brown of St. Charles, MO will officiate with burial in Whispering Winds Cemetery near Winfield. Serving as pallbearers are Jesse Beckmann, Jeremy Callaway, James Callaway, Travis Callaway, Keith Aubuchon and Ryan Aubuchon. Mrs. Hyde, 62, passed away Wednesday afternoon, December 23, 2020 at SSM St. Joseph Hospital in Lake St. Louis, MO. Born September 2, 1958 in St. Charles, she was the ninth of thirteen children born to Roderick Chesley and Doris Lee Ferber Callaway. Elsie was a 1976 graduate of Winfield High School. She was united in marriage on June 28, 1980 at Corinth Church in Foley, MO to David Hyde. Their home was blessed with three children: Victoria “Vicki”, Valerie and David. She worked as the secretary for Turnbull and Turnbull Leasing. She was a longtime member of St. Paul United Church of Christ. Elsie was preceded in death by her parents, Roderick and Doris Callaway; two brothers: Dale Patrick Callaway and Daniel Edward “Boone” Callaway; and one sister, Marsha Jean Callaway, as an infant. Survivors include her beloved husband of 40 years, David Hyde of Winfield; their children: Vicki Beckmann and her husband, Jesse, of Old Monroe, MO, Valerie Finke and her husband, Daniel, of O’Fallon, MO and David Prinster and his wife, Mandy, of Foley, MO; and four grandchildren: Morgan Finke, and Andrew, Tyler and Alexander Beckmann. Elsie also leaves six brothers: Roderick “Butch” Callaway of Wentzville, MO, George Callaway of Winfield, Roy Callaway of Foley, Bruce Callaway of Winfield, Mark Callaway of Foley and Carl Callaway of Foley; three sisters: Yvonne McCaw of Troy, MO, Rosina Ruegg of Elsberry, MO, and Mary Aubuchon of Old Monroe; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Funeral Services at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Winfield.
