Obituary of Edith Lenora Hobbs

Ms. Edith Lenora Hobbs, 81, passed away early Saturday morning, December 19, 2020 at her home in Foley, MO. Edith was born August 5, 1939 in Protem, MO. Edith earned her Bachelor’s Degree from Missouri State and later Master’s Degree in Library Science from Mizzou. She worked as a librarian for the Fox C-1 School District, retiring in 1995 and later at the Kirkwood Library, retiring in 2001. Edith was a member of the Missouri Retired Teachers Society and the Mid Rivers Ethical Society, where she was a founding member. She authored some magazine articles and historical periodicals. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers: Loy and Bob Mashburn; one sister, Shirley Mashburn; and her son, Jeffrey Hobbs. Survivors include her daughter, Ginger Hobbs and her husband, Kevin Shults, of Foley; and five grandchildren: Steven Hobbs of St. Louis, MO, Nicole Cushway and her husband, Chris, of Atlanta, GA, Ryan Hobbs of O’Fallon, IL, Tiffany Perez and her husband, Daniel, of Anchorage, AK and Brandon Hobbs of Tempe, AZ; and six great-grandchildren.
