Carter-Ricks Funeral Homes Phone 573-898-2181 / Fax 573-898-3148 Newspaper Notice of Death Jessie Bernice Davis Funeral services for Jessie Bernice Davis of Troy, MO (formerly of Foley, MO), were held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, September 14, 2006 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield. Rev. Raymond Doussard, of AmHeart Hospice in Troy, MO, officiated with burial in Asbury Cemetery near Winfield. Serving as pallbearers were Lewis Lavy, Bruce Wallace, Gary Shields, Jr., Gary Shields, Sr., Terry Blair, Jim Wallace and Josh Lavy. Mrs. Davis, 91, died early Tuesday morning, September 12, 2006 at Lincoln County Nursing and Rehabilitation in Troy, MO. Born September 27, 1914 in New Hope, MO (near Elsberry, MO), she was the daughter of Jesse Cameron and Lola Jane Judy Crenshaw. She was united in marriage on January 12, 1935 in Troy, MO to John Knox Davis. This union was blessed with three daughters: Mary Jane, Becky and Judy. She was employed for several years as a seamstress at Wells Lamont Glove Factory in Elsberry, MO. She was a very talented seamstress and enjoyed making Raggedy Ann dolls and quilts. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jesse and Lola Crenshaw; four brothers: Arthur Crenshaw, Bill Crenshaw, Taylor Crenshaw and Roy Crenshaw; one sister, Rachel Crenshaw; and her beloved husband of almost 64 years, John Davis, who passed away November 22, 1999. Survivors include three daughters: Mary Jane Wallace and her husband, James, of Foley, MO, Becky Blair and her husband, Terry, of Winfield, MO, and Judy Shields and her husband, Gary, also of Foley; six grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Visitation was held from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 13, 2006 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield.
