Obituary of Guy Wallace Gibbs

Memorial Services for Guy Wallace Gibbs of Elsberry, MO will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, October 17, 2020 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry. Mr. Gibbs, 64, passed away Wednesday, October 7, 2020 at his home. Born June 13, 1956 in Alamogardo, NM, he was the son of Ted M. and Joyce A. Stults Gibbs. Guy served his country in the United States Coast Guard from August 4, 1975 until his honorable discharge on December 3, 1979. He was united in marriage on February 10, 1979 in Rolla, MO to Patricia A. Smith. This union was blessed with four children: Derek, Dustin, Dillon and Danielle. Guy worked as an electrician for McDonnell Douglas, Boeing and later GKN, retiring in February 2019. Guy was preceded in death by his father, Ted Gibbs. Survivors include his beloved wife of 41 years, Patty Gibbs of Elsberry; their children: Derek Gibbs and his wife, Allison, of St. Peters, MO, Dustin Gibbs and his wife, Sylvia, of Troy, MO, Dillon Gibbs and his wife, Jenni, of San Angelo, TX and Danielle Gibbs and her companion, Nate Contini, of St. Louis, MO; and four grandchildren: Gwen, Gavin, Logun and Ella Gibbs. Guy also leaves his mother, Joyce Gibbs of Broken Bow, OK; one brother, Lance Gibbs and his wife, Cody, of Wildwood, MO; two sisters: Teri Gibbs of Broken Bow and Dana Hubbard and her husband, Phil, of Ballwin, MO; several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. until the time of Memorial Services at 3:00 p.m. at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home.
