Carter Ricks Funeral Homes Phone 573-898-2181 / Fax 573-898-3148 Newspaper Notice of Death Frieda Myrtle Tesarek Funeral services for Frieda Myrtle Tesarek of Elsberry, MO, were at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, September 14, 2006 at the Elsberry First Christian Church in Elsberry, MO. Rev. Bob Norvel, pastor of Annada Community Christian Church in Annada, MO and Rev. Connie Atchley, pastor of the Elsberry First Christian Church in Elsberry, MO officiated with a burial in the Elsberry City Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were David Cunningham, Brian Burns, Roger Eads, Winston Bailey, Norvall Hagemeier and Don Bowers. Honorary pallbearer was Perry Stonebraker. Mrs. Tesarek, 97, died Monday afternoon, September 11, 2006 at Elsberry Health Care Center near Elsberry, MO. Born November 17, 1908 in Licking, MO, she was the daughter of Joel F. and Sarah Frances Scott Whitby. She was united in marriage July 8, 1945 in St. Louis, MO to Joseph F. Tesarek. He preceded her in death December 23, 1960. She was employed for 22 years as a bookkeeper, retiring in April of 1977. She lived most of her life in St. Louis, MO, prior to moving to Elsberry, MO in May of 1982. She became a member of the Elsberry First Christian Church July of 1982. She was a member of the Christian Women Fellowship and she was also a Deaconess Emeritus. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joel and Sarah Whitby; her husband of 15 years, Joseph F. Tesarek; two sisters: Zulah Trappe and Beulah Cunningham; and one brother, Roy Whitby. Survivors include several nieces, nephews, cousins, special friends, her beloved church family, several other relatives and friends who will miss her smiles and humor that was a special part of her charm. Visitation was held from 12:00 p.m. until time of service, September 14, 2006 at the Elsberry First Christian Church in Elsberry.
