Obituary of Janice Irene Chandler

Funeral Services for Janice Irene “JC” Chandler of Elsberry, MO will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, September 15, 2020 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry. Allen Lockard, pastor of God’s House of Ministry in Elsberry, will officiate. Graveside Services will be held at 1:15 p.m. at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, MO. Serving as pallbearers will be James Webster, Allen Hunter, James Linhorst, Jeffrey Hardwick, Jr., Bob Manning and Shaun Dodson. Mrs. Chandler, 61, passed away Sunday morning, September 6, 2020 at her home. Born August 6, 1959 in Indiana, she was the daughter of Kenneth Arnold and Hattie Kathrine Rollins Hardwick. Janice was united in marriage on March 12, 1979 in St. Louis to James Lester Chandler. She worked as a clerk and warehouse worker for Oscar Wilson Engine and Parts. She was preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth and Hattie Hardwick; three sisters: Nancy Cafazzo, Nikki Jackson and Patti Danes; two brothers: David Hardwick and Steven Hardwick; and her beloved husband of 25 years, James Chandler, who died November 27, 2004. Survivors include her daughter, Sharon Hardwick and her companion, Ty Henderson, of Elsberry; two stepsons: Tony Chandler of St. Louis, MO and J.T. Turner of Elsberry; several grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Janice also leaves her companion, Billy Jo Hunter of Elsberry; three brothers: Jeffery Hardwick, Sr., and his companion, Barb Wilson, of Elsberry, Dante Hardwick of New Hampshire and Kenneth Hardwick of St. Ann, MO; one sister, Donna Disney and her husband, Carey, of Cincinnati, OH; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the time of Funeral Services at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, September 15, 2020 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry.
