Carter-Ricks Funeral Homes Phone 573-898-2181 / Fax 573-898-3148 Newspaper Notice of Death Robert Elmer Lee Jacobs Funeral services for Robert Elmer Lee Jacobs of Winfield, MO were held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, August 31, 2006 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield, MO. Pastor Steve Himmel, of the Church on the Rock in St. Peters, MO., officiated with burial in Whispering Winds Cemetery near Winfield. Serving as pallbearers were Robert Vernon Jacobs, Mark Nolting, Joe De Los Santos, Brandon Kurtz, Michael Telle, Jerry Castel and Ryan Jacobs. Honorary pallbearers were Jeremy Moyers and John Jacobs. Mr. Jacobs, 67, died Monday evening, August 28, 2006 at St. Anthony's Medical Center in St. Louis, MO. Born January 27, 1939 in Flint, MI, he was the son of Robert Vern and Mamie Marie Mehrling Jacobs. He served in the U.S. Navy from February 1, 1956 until being honorably discharged October 29, 1957. He was united in marriage on December 8, 1990 in Pagedale, MO to Cheryl Lynn Nolting. He was employed for 30 years as a booth cleaner for General Motors in St. Louis, MO., retiring in July 1996. He was a member of Church on the Rock in St. Peters, MO, and UAW Local #2250 in St. Louis, MO. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Mamie Jacobs; one brother, Ray Jacobs; and one sister, Marlita Green. Survivors include his beloved wife of 15 years, Cheryl Jacobs of Winfield, MO; two sons: Robert "Bob" Vernon Lee Jacobs and his wife, Paula, of Ozark, MO and Ryan Lee Jacobs of Winfield; one daughter, Elizabeth "Beth" Marie Telle of House Springs, MO; one step-son, Brandon Eugene Kurtz and his wife, Desi, of Warrenton, MO; and two step daughters: Christina Ruth McDonough of Tulsa, OK and Jessica Lynn Kurtz of Moscow Mills, MO; six grandchildren; and two step-grandchildren. He also leaves two sisters: Virginia Lowrey of Burton, MI and Wendy Dokter and her husband, Trent, of Lapeer, MI; several in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends. Visitation was held was held from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 30, 2006 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield.
