Obituary of Cora June Lawless

Funeral Services for Cora June Lawless of Moscow Mills, MO will be held at 6:00 p.m. Monday, July 13, 2020 at New Salem Baptist Church near Winfield, MO. Rev. Craig Rogers, church pastor, will officiate. Graveside Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 14, 2020 in New Salem Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Ray Griffon, Steve Griffon, Caleb Griffon, Luke Griffon, Mike Reno and David Bruce. Mrs. Lawless, 91, passed away Friday afternoon, July 10, 2020 at Mercy Lincoln Hospital in Troy, MO. Born July 7, 1929 in Madison, IL, she was the daughter of Edward and Cora Elizabeth Niemeier Fuller. Cora was a 1948 graduate of Central High School in St. Louis, MO. She was united in marriage on December 10, 1960 in St. Louis to John William Lawless. Their union was blessed with one child, Karen. She worked for many years as a secretary for Martee Originals (dress manufacturer) in St. Louis, retiring in 1980. Cora was a member of the New Salem Baptist Church and the Women’s Mission Service. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Cora Fuller; one brother and his wife, Donald and Arlene Fuller; and one sister and her husband, Jean and Beryl Dalrymple. Survivors include her beloved husband of almost 60 years, John Lawless of Moscow Mills; their daughter, Karen Griffon and her husband, Ray, of Moscow Mills; three grandchildren: Debbie Reno and her husband, Mike, of Troy, MO, Amy Bruce and her husband, David, of Scott City, MO, and Steven Griffon and his wife, Anndrea, of Moscow Mills; four great-grandchildren: Jessica Reno, Caleb Griffon, Luke Griffon and Hannah Griffon; and one great, great-grandchild, Emma Reno. Cora also leaves several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. Monday, July 13, 2020 until time of the Funeral Service at 6:00 p.m. at New Salem Baptist Church near Winfield.
