Obituary of Vivian Easter Mertz

Memorial Services for Vivian Easter Mertz of Elsberry, MO will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 14, 2020 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry. Rev. Sam Bogan will officiate. Mrs. Mertz, 63, passed away Wednesday morning, July 8, 2020 at her home near Elsberry. Born February 10, 1957 in Helena Montana, she was the daughter of Daniel and Rosland Kirby Trissel. Vivian was united in marriage on July 17, 1997 in Harrison, AR to William Michael “Mike” Mertz. She worked as a cook and dishwasher for JR Diamonds Restaurant. Vivian had a love for all animals. Vivian was preceded in death by her father, Daniel Trissel; and one brother, Calvin Trissel. Survivors include her beloved husband, Mike Mertz of Elsberry, whom she shared 28 years with; three children: Chris Stover and his fiance, Cheryl Franklin, of Elsberry; John Stover of Farmington, MO and Valerie Stover of Colorado Springs, CO; four stepchildren: Timothy Patrick of Wentzville, MO, Thomas Brian Patrick of Colorado Springs, Tonya Walkinhorst of Wentzville and Tamara Michele Mertz of Spanish Lake, MO; ten grandchildren and one great-grandchild on the way. Vivian also leaves her mother and stepfather, Rosland and Ed Cowan of Eastern Helena, MT; two brothers: Raymond Trissel and his wife, Reattia, of Terre Haute, IN and Danny Silverthorn of MT; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until the time of Memorial Services at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 14, 2020 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry.
