Obituary of Aubrey Laine Dunn

Aubrey Laine Dunn, 21, was born on December 24, 1998 to Ethan and LeeAnne Dunn of Old Monroe, Missouri. She passed away, as a result of a car accident, Thursday, June 18, 2020, at Saint Louis University Hospital surrounded by her parents and siblings. Aubrey was a 2017 graduate of Winfield High School, where she was active in volleyball, soccer, basketball, Student Council, the yearbook and National Honor Society. After high school, Aubrey completed her Associate’s Degree at St. Charles Community College and transferred to the University of Missouri-St. Louis to complete her Bachelor’s Degree as a dual major in Criminology and Social Work. Aubrey was looking forward to graduating and becoming an advocate or counselor for children. While at UMSL, she joined Delta Zeta and enjoyed every moment with her sorority sisters. Aubrey lived life to the fullest in any situation that came her way, whether it was standing around a bon-fire with family and friends or attending Thomas Rhett concerts, which were her favorite. She enjoyed nothing more than her wide array of music genre; that spanned from old school rap to country. Spending time with her family, friends, sorority sisters and her German Shepard, Elle Mae, were her favorite pastimes. Aubrey also loved shopping; especially her shoes, she kept all of us up on the current fashion trends and was sure to let us know if we weren’t “doing it right”. She had a caring heart and would support anyone in their time of need. She enjoyed her volunteer work of hosting an annual blood drive, as well as her time with Our Lady’s Inn Maternity Home. Aubrey’s smile, laughter and choice of words would always steal the room. She truly had a positive impact on so many people. Aubrey was preceded in death by her grandmother, Sharon Ackerman; and two cousins, Shawn Jennings and Kyle Ackerman. Survivors include her parents, Ethan and LeeAnne Dunn; a sister, Kiersten (Brandon) Gillman; a brother, Hunter Dunn of Old Monroe; her grandparents, Rick and Joni Dunn of Troy; Charles Ackerman of Old Monroe; three aunts, Tanika (Jamey) Busch, Jessica Dunn, and Laura (David) Flores; an uncle, Mark (Michelle) Ackerman; her cousins, Conner, Cole, Camille, Morgan and Macey Dunn, Trent and Jake Busch, Michael (Amanda) Jennings, Kevin (Meredith) and Riley Ackerman; her honorary aunt, Jen Ballmann; other relatives and many, many friends. Visitation will be held from 3:00 - 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 23, 2020 at the Winfield Intermediate School Gymnasium in Winfield, with a Celebration of Life service following at 7:00 p.m. Memorials may be made to the Family of Aubrey Dunn in care of Carter-Ricks Funeral Home, 3838 East Highway 47, P.O. Box 253, Winfield, MO 63389. Now she flies with the butterflies…
