Fr. Robert Zinser, church pastor, officiated with burial in Elsberry City Cemetery in Elsberry. Serving as pallbearers were his grandchildren: Jason Boedeker, Daniel Lauritzen, Bradley Schnelle, Tracy Wilke, Amy Ingrassia, Leslie Hennemann and Erin Boedeker. Mr. Boedeker, 83, died late Sunday evening, August 27, 2006 at Elsberry Healthcare Center in Elsberry, MO. Born July 3, 1923 in St. Louis, MO, he was the son of Anthony and Sophie Herklotz Boedeker, Sr. He was united in marriage on August 4, 1951 in St. Louis, Mo to Mary Alfreda Boedeker. This union was blessed with seven children: Anthony Joseph III, Thomas Francis, David Paul, Marilyn Louise, Kathie Ann, Christina Marie and Michele Gerard. He was part owner and operator of Boedeker Dairy Farms in Elsberry for many years. Mr. Boedeker was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Elsberry. He was preceded in death by his parents, Anthony, Sr. and Sophie Boedeker; one sister, Melba Behlmann and her husband, Richard; two sisters-in-law, Louise and Joan Boedeker; one grandson, Adam Boaz, who passed away August 17, 1982; and his beloved wife of 54 years, Mary Alfreda Boedeker, who passed away September 30, 2005. Survivors include three sons: Anthony Joseph "Joe" Boedeker, III and his wife, Donna, of Elsberry, Thomas Francis "Tom" Boedeker and his wife, Lori, of Elsberry, and David Paul Boedeker and his wife, Donna, of Elsberry; four daughters: Marilyn Louise Colbert and her husband, Bill, of Winfield, MO, Kathie Ann Hennemann and her husband, Steve, of Omaha, NE, Christina Marie "Tina" Lauritzen and her husband, Terrence "Butch", of Sequim, WA, and Michele Gerard Schnelle and her husband, Steve, of Moon Township, PA; sixteen grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. He also leaves two brothers: Harold "Red' Boedeker and Herbert Boedeker both of Elsberry; one sister, Doris Nassal and her husband, Joseph, of Florissant, MO; several nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends. Visitation will be held from 3:00 - 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 30, 2006 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry. A Prayer Service will be held at 7 p.m. during the visitation at the funeral home. Visitation will continue from 9:00 a.m. until time of the service at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, August 31, 2006 at the church. Memorials may be made to Masses, American Heart Association, or American Diabetes Association in care of Carter-Ricks Funeral Home, 107 South Fifth Street, Elsberry, MO 63343.
