Obituary of Richard Gene Stockton

Graveside Services for Richard Gene Stockton of Winfield, MO will be held at 12:00 noon Friday, May 29, 2020 at Antioch Cemetery in Tamaroa, IL. Rev. Chris Nation pastor of The Crossing Church in Chesterfield, MO will officiate. Mr. Stockton, 87, passed away Sunday afternoon, May 24, 2020 at his home near Winfield. Born February 22, 1933 in Tamaroa, IL, he was the son of Paul Edward and Maude Marie Lynch Stockton. He was a1951 graduate of Tamaroa High School. He served his country during the Korean Conflict in the U.S. Army from March 6, 1953 until he was honorably discharged on March 1, 1955. He was united in marriage on September 3, 1955 in St. Louis, MO to Patsy Ruth Williams. This union was blessed with three children: Richard Mark, Jacqueline and Lisa. Richard was employed for a number of years by McDonnell Douglas aircraft manufacturer as a riveter. He also worked for 21 years at Unilever Corp soap manufacturing, retiring on December 1, 1991. He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Maude Stockton; one brother, Jack M. Stockton; and his beloved wife of almost 45 years, Patsy Stockton who died May 5, 1999. Survivors include three children: Richard Mark Stockton and his wife, Candice, of Manchester, MO, Jacqueline Hamil and her husband, Trent, of Bridgeton, MO and Lisa Bryant and her husband, Joel, of Land O’Lakes, FL; eight grandchildren: Jeanne Goeckeler and her husband, Shawn, David Stockton and his wife, Kim, Gary Stockton and his wife, Enisa, Erin Roth and her husband, Ben, Christine Hamil, Lauren Bryant, Sarah Bryant and Emily Bryant; and three great-grandchildren: Harper and Audrey Goeckeler and Henry Roth. Richard also leaves his long-time companion and friend, Mary Rojean Zielinski of Winfield; his sister-in-law, Phyllis Stockton of Catawissa, MO; one niece, Dana Stockton; other relatives and many friends. Visitation will be held from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. Thursday, May 28, 2020 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield. **A mask MUST be worn and six feet social distancing guidelines must be followed in order to attend.** Memorials may be made to the American Macular Degeneration Foundation in care of Carter-Ricks Funeral Home, 3838 East Highway 47, P.O.
