Obituary of Roy Eugene Turnbull

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date for Roy Eugene Turnbull of Elsberry, MO once Covid-19 restrictions have been lifted. Burial was in the Elsberry City Cemetery. Mr. Turnbull, 63, passed away early Tuesday morning, April 28, 2019 at his home near Elsberry. Born July 12, 1956 in St. Louis, MO, he was the son of Harry Robert and Stella Mae Smith Turnbull. Roy served his country in the United States Army from August 22, 1973 until he was honorably discharged on September 24, 1976. He was united in marriage on October 28, 1989 in Elsberry to Donna Marie Riefle Turnbull. This union was blessed with four sons: David, Brandon, Brett and Bradley. Roy drove a truck for Dynamic Transit for a number of years before becoming an owner/operator for A&T Transit. Roy was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Stella Turnbull; and one infant brother, Randy Lynn Turnbull. Survivors include his beloved wife of 30 years, Donna Turnbull of Elsberry; their sons: David Turnbull and his wife, Sandie, of Elsberry, Brandon Turnbull and his wife, Hannah, of Elsberry, Brett Turnbull and his wife, Jackie, of Hazelwood, MO and Bradley Turnbull and his wife, Mikka, of Elsberry; and three grandchildren: Andrew, Melanie and Alexander. Roy also leaves three brothers: Robert Turnbull and his wife, Lori, of Elsberry, Ronnie Turnbull and his wife, Catrina, of Virginia Beach, VA and Richard Turnbull and his wife, Mitzi of Elsberry; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
