Obituary of Dale Alan Galloway

Funeral Services for Dale Alan Galloway of Elsberry, MO will be held at 4:00 p.m. Saturday, February 22, 2020 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry. Greg Pflasterer, of the Elsberry First Baptist Church, will officiate. Mr. Galloway, 74, passed away Sunday afternoon, February 16, 2020 at his home. Born July 24, 1945 in St. Louis, MO, he was the son of David Francis and Kathryn Mae Reid Galloway. Growing up, Dale was a member of Boy Scouts, attending the Boy Scout Jamboree in Colorado, where he played the bugle for reveille. He was a 1964 graduate of Elsberry High School and attended Northeast Missouri State Teachers College in Kirksville. Following college, he worked for St. Louis Car Company that built the tram for the St. Louis Arch. He then worked for several years at Monsanto. He owned a TV Repair Shop and Countryside Quick Shop (later known as Stu’s), and loved to farm. Dale worked as a repairman for Missouri Lottery, retiring in 2000. Dale’s hobbies included fishing, hunting, boating, playing cards, gardening, and in his younger days loved going to Big Island on the Mississippi owned by the Galloways. He was a longtime member of Elsberry First Baptist Church and later New Hope Baptist Church. Dale was preceded in death by his parents, David and Kathryn Galloway; and his identical twin brother, David Reid Galloway, who died February 23, 1962. Survivors include his children: Dane Galloway and his wife, Kasey, of Troy, MO, Meagan Hartsock and her husband, Joe, of Pleasant Hill, IL, Stacey Galloway of Quincy, IL and Kayelynn Galloway of Arnold, MO; and nine grandchildren: Elsa and Bryce Galloway, Evan, Jadyn and Raelynn Hartsock, Gracie and Stella Galloway, and Kylar and Oliver King. Dale also leaves two sisters: Linda Parker and her husband, Mike, and Cindy Cordsiemon and her husband, Larry, all of Elsberry; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. until the time of Funeral Services at 4:00 p.m., Saturday, February 22, 2020 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry. Memorials may be made to the Elsberry Health Care Center, Alzheimer’s Association, (or) American Cancer Society in care of Carter-Ricks Funeral Home, 107 S. 5th Street; Elsberry, MO 63343.
