Obituary of Nancy Ann Rimel

A Celebration of Life for Nancy Ann Rimel of Elsberry, MO will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 23, 2019 at the Elsberry First Christian Church. Rev. John Yonker, interim church pastor, will officiate. Private inurnment will follow at a later date in the Elsberry City Cemetery near Elsberry. Mrs. Rimel, 78, passed away Thursday morning, December 19, 2019 at her home. Born December 14, 1941 in Elsberry, she was the daughter of Roy Cannon and Anna LaFrance Shelton Hammack. Nancy was a 1959 graduate of Elsberry High School. She was united in marriage on December 31, 1980 in Pittsfield, IL to Gilbert Rimel. Nancy was a longtime member of the Elsberry First Christian Church. Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Anna Hammack; and her brother, Charles Hammack. Survivors include her beloved husband of nearly 40 years, Gilbert Rimel of Elsberry; two daughters: Lisa Brockman and her husband, John, of Colleyville, TX and Kristin Sine of Magnolia, TX; and two grandchildren: Blake Jerrod Brockman and Bryn Ann Brockman. Nancy also leaves behind two sisters: Bonnie Wilson of Mt. Pleasant, IA and Susan Evans of Kansas City, MO; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
