Obituary of Irvin Michael Porter

Irvin Michael "Mike" Porter Funeral services for Irvin Michael "Mike" Porter of Foley, MO were held at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, August 6, 2006 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield, MO with Harold Counts of Middletown, MO officiating. Cremation followed on Monday, August 7, 2006. Mr. Porter, 53, died Thursday evening, August 3, 2006 at his home near Foley. Born November 11, 1952 in St. Louis, MO, he was the son of Irvin Sherill and Sarah Oberts Porter. He was united in marriage on December 19, 1970 in Clayton, MO to Debra Lynn Rule. This union was blessed with three children: Larry "Mick", Carmen and Angee. He was a production worker at Hussman Refrigeration for several years before retiring in 2001. He was a member of the Machinist's Union in St. Louis. He was preceded in death by his parents, Irvin and Sarah Porter; and his daughter-in-law, Denise Porter, who died in 2004. Survivors include his beloved wife of 35 years, Debbie Lynn Porter of Foley; one son, Larry "Mick" Porter of Foley; two daughters: Carmen Porter of Elsberry, MO, and Angee Keefer and her husband, Chris, of Elsberry; and six grandchildren: Emily, Ashley, Arika, Nate, Logan and Andrew. He also leaves five brothers: Bill Porter and his wife, Sandie, of Overland, MO, Larry Porter and his wife, Suzy, of Dittmer, MO, John Porter and his wife, Carla, of Ironton, MO, Steve Porter and his wife, Terry, of Winfield, and Terry Porter and his wife, Cindy, of Ironton; five sisters: Louise Parker and her husband, Andy, of Winchester, VA, Betty Marsden and her husband, Mark, of Overland, Becky Meek and her husband, Stan, of Fredericktown, MO, Sharon Tripp of Ironton, and Debbie Bullis of Farmington, MO; several nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Visitation was held from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Saturday, August 5, 2006 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield.
