Carter-Ricks Funeral Homes Phone 573-898-2181 / Fax 573-898-3148 Newspaper Notice of Death Hettie Mae Skinner Funeral services for Hettie Mae Skinner of Winfield, MO, were held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, August 11, 2006 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield. Bro. Todd Cates, pastor of Church of Christ in Troy, officiated with burial in Stricklin-Crocker Cemetery in Bixby, MO. Serving as pallbearers were Lee Losh, Joe Ponder, John Trower, George Ketterman, Jr., Jeff Blair and Richard Carroz. Mrs. Skinner, 98, died Sunday afternoon, August 6, 2006 at her residence near Winfield. Born April 4, 1908 in Goodland, MO, she was the daughter of George and Rettie Trollanger Stricklin. She was united in marriage to James Hubert Hansell. This union was blessed with eight children: Jerritt, Kenneth, Florence, Juanita, James, Glendale, Bonnie and Clyde. Hubert preceded her in death. She was again united in marriage in 1968 in St. Louis, MO to Thomas Skinner who also preceded her in death in 1971. Mrs. Skinner was employed for several years as a Certified Nurses Aide at Gidener Nursing Home in St. Louis, MO, retiring in 1970. She was a member of the Church of Christ in Troy, MO. She enjoyed working with ceramics. She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Rettie Stricklin; two sons: Kenneth and Glendale Hansell; one daughter, Juanita Hansell; three grandchildren: Jeff Miller, Bonita Kaye Spence and James Spence; two brothers: Harvey and Willard Stricklin; and two sisters: Rosie Crocker and Muriel Shy. Survivors include three sons: Jerritt Hansell and his wife, Doris, of Fayetteville, NC, James Hansell and his wife, Nadine, of Foristell, MO and Clyde Hansell of St. Charles, MO; two daughters: Florence Miller and her husband, Bob, of Paradise City, TX and Bonnie Irvin of Winfield, MO; ten grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; several great-great grandchildren; and one daughter-in-law, Rosezella Hansell of Farmington, MO. She also leaves several nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Visitation was held from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Thursday, August 10, 2006 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield. A Graveside Service was held at 3:30 p.m. Friday, August 11, 2006 at Stricklin-Crocker Cemetery in Bixby, MO.
