Obituary of Curtis Louis Davis, Jr.

Graveside Services for Curtis Louis Davis, Jr. of Winfield, MO will be held on Friday, October 11, 2019 at Davis Cemetery near Elsberry, MO; meeting at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry at 11:00 a.m. Bishop Dean Tiffany of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in St. Peters, MO, will officiate.  Serving as pallbearers will be Rob Murphy, Kevin Davis, Christopher Davis, Ethan Davis, Jon Davis, Scott Grist, Jason Barnes, Jeremy Barron and Rich Davis.


Mr. Davis, 61, passed away Monday night, October 7, 2019 at SSM St. Joseph Hospital in Lake St. Louis, MO.  Born October 31, 1957 in St. Charles, MO, he was the son of Curtis Louis and Joyce Ann Hartigan Davis, Sr.  Louis was a 1976 graduate of Elsberry High School.  He served his country in the United States Marine Corps from October 27, 1976 until he was honorably discharged on January 26, 1981. 

He was united in marriage on January 25, 1981 in San Diego, CA to Alma Rosa
Villaseñor Ibarra.  This union was blessed with two sons: Christopher and Kevin.  Louis worked as a driver for SAIA Motor Freight, Ltd.  He had a love for cars, taking great enjoyment in participating and watching demolition derbies.  Louis was a former member of the Elsberry VFW Post #9064 and Elsberry American Legion Post #226.


Louis was preceded in death by his parents, Curtis and Joyce Davis, Sr.
 

Survivors include his wife, Rosa Davis of Winfield; two sons: Christopher Davis of Cypress, TX and Kevin Davis of Elsberry; and two grandchildren: Kylie and Corbin.  Louis also leaves two sisters: Catherine Grist of Sugar Land, TX and Debra Semon and her husband, Ron, of Columbia, MO; one brother, Richard Davis and his wife, Serina, of Troy, MO; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Thursday, October 10, 2019 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry.  Memorials may be made to the Charity of the Donor’s Choice in care of Carter-Ricks Funeral Home, 107 S. 5th Street; Elsberry, MO 63343.
