Obituary of Robin Gail Dameron
Funeral Services for Robin Gail Howard Dameron of Elsberry, MO will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 8, 2019 at the Elsberry United Methodist Church. Rev. Floyd Gudde, church pastor, will officiate with burial in the Oak Ridge Cemetery near Elsberry. Serving as pallbearers will be Bobby Green, Darrell Painter, Mark Rhoades, Joe Talbot, Todd Boedeker, Brad Boedeker, John Boedeker and Jayce Hudspeth. Honorary pallbearers are Ronnie Vaughn, Niles Leverington, Keith Howard and Kyle Howard.
Mrs. Dameron, 62, passed away Thursday morning, July 4, 2019 at Mercy Hospital in Creve Coeur, MO. Born December 26, 1956 in Louisiana, MO, she was the daughter of Robert Wilson “Bob” and Kathryn Mae Beaver Howard. A lifelong resident of Elsberry, Robin was a 1975 graduate of Elsberry High School. She was united in marriage on August 24, 1974 at the Elsberry United Methodist Church in Elsberry to George Gilbert “Gil” Dameron. This union was blessed with three daughters: Melissa Jan, Emily Kathryn and Wendi Jo.
She loved kids and was a daycare provider for many years. Robin was employed for 5 years as a classroom aid at Clarence Cannon Elementary School in Elsberry. Robin earned her teaching degree from Missouri Baptist University in 2000. She then taught at Clarence Cannon Elementary for 3 years. In her years at the Elsberry Health Care Center, Robin discovered her love for painting and was very talented.
Robin was preceded in death by her father, Bob Howard in 2003; and her daughter, Melissa Jan Dameron on October 25, 1994.
Survivors include her beloved husband of nearly 45 years, Gil Dameron of Elsberry; their children: Emily Dameron of St. Louis, MO, and Wendi Jo Dameron of Bethalto, IL; and one granddaughter, Colbi Lane Varela, who loving knew her as “Mimi.” Robin also leaves her mother, Kathryn Howard of Elsberry; two sisters, Kay Silver of St. Peters, MO, and Rhonda Leverington and her husband, Niles, of Elsberry; several nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Sunday, July 7, 2019 at the Elsberry United Methodist Church. Memorials may be made to the Elsberry United Methodist Church (or) the Elsberry Health Care Center in care of Carter-Ricks Funeral Home, 107 S. 5th Street; Elsberry, MO 63343.
