Obituary of Drew Alan Foster

Funeral Services for Drew Alan Foster of Ferguson, MO will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, April 7, 2019 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry, MO.  Rev. Jeff Evenson, pastor of the Troy Community Center in Troy, MO, will officiate with burial in Star Hope Cemetery near Elsberry.  Serving as pallbearers will be Bobby Foster, Jason Jarl, Morris Dane Colbert and Stephen Colbert.

Mr. Foster, 61, passed away Tuesday morning, April 2, 2019 at Christian Northeast Hospital in St. Louis, MO.  Born October 21, 1957 in St. Louis, he was the son of Oscar Dale and Anna Bell Morris Foster.  Drew was a graduate of McCluer High School.  He went on to earn his Bachelor’s Degree in Education from the University of Missouri-St. Louis; and later his Master’s Degree from Webster University.  Drew worked as an English Teacher for McCluer High School, where he was a soccer coach; and later as a Professor of English and Photography for Florissant Valley Community College, where he retired in 2018.  Drew was a regular attendee and faithful supporter of the St. Louis Symphony. 

Drew was preceded in death by his father, Dale Foster; and two brothers: Steve and Todd Foster.

Survivors include his mother, Anna Foster of Ferguson; and one brother, Bob Foster and his wife, Marjorie, of O’Fallon, MO.  Drew also leaves two nieces: Dr. Shelly Foster of Boston, MA and Laura Foster-Jarl of Austin, TX; one nephew, Bobby Foster of O’Fallon; his aunt, Betty Jean Cox and her husband, Claude, of Troy; other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held from 12:30 p.m. until the time of Funeral Services at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 7, 2019 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry.  Memorials may be made to the Charity of the Donor’s Choice in care of Carter-Ricks Funeral Home, 107 S. 5th Street; Elsberry, MO 63343.
