Obituary of Linda Gayle Hagemeier

Funeral Services for Linda Gayle Hagemeier of Elsberry, MO will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 28, 2019 at the First Christian Church in Elsberry under the direction of Carter-Ricks Funeral Homes.  Rev. Kris Hagemeier, church pastor, along with his siblings, Kim Land and Kevin Hagemeier, will lead the service.  Serving as pallbearers will be Brogan Hagemeier, Brennan Hagemeier, Jim Land, Scott Land, Josiah Hagemeier, Joel Hagemeier, Justin Nicholson and Ryan Toler.

Mrs. Hagemeier, 71, passed away Saturday morning, January 26, 2019 at St. Joseph Health Center in St. Charles, MO.  Born July 25, 1947 in Louisiana, MO, she was the daughter of Richard Wallace and Jessie Lois Fakes Hausgen.  She was a 1965 graduate of Elsberry High School.  Linda was united in marriage on August 28, 1965 in Elsberry, MO to Lynn George Hagemeier.  This union was blessed with three children: Kevin, Kim and Kris. 

Linda was a wonderful mother and involved in her kids’ lives by serving as a Cub Scout Den Mother and a Girl Scout Leader.  While the family lived in Lawton, OK, she worked with the infants at the First Baptist Day Care from 1983-89.  After returning to Missouri, she volunteered in the Day Care at Wentzville Christian Church.  Linda was employed for many years as a Clean Room Inspector at MEMC in St. Peters, MO, retiring in 2011.  She was a faithful member of the Elsberry First Christian Church.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Jessie Hausgen; her parents-in-law, Fred and Esther Hagemeier; one brother, Richard “Dickie” Wayne Hausgen; one sister-in-law, Brenda Hausgen; one grandson, Jeremiah Hagemeier; and many beloved dogs and chickens.

Survivors include her beloved husband of 53 years, Lynn Hagemeier of Elsberry; their children: Kevin Hagemeier and his wife, Kathleen, of Indianapolis, IN, Kim Land and her husband, Jim, of Berthoud, CO, and Kris Hagemeier of Troy, MO; and eight grandchildren:  Brogan Hagemeier, Brennan Hagemeier, Alexandria Land, William Scott Land, Elena Nicholson, Yulia Toler, Josiah Hagemeier and Joel Hagemeier.  Linda also leaves one brother, Donald “Donnie” Hausgen and his wife, Joyce, of Jonesboro, LA; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Sunday, January 27, 2019 at the First Christian Church in Elsberry.  Memorials may be made to the Elsberry United Methodist Church for the “Feed ‘em, Teach ‘em, Love ‘em” Program in care of Carter-Ricks Funeral Home, 107 S. 5th Street; Elsberry, MO 63343.
