Obituary of Dennis Ray Simpson

Memorial Services for Dennis Ray Simpson of Elsberry, MO will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, December 29, 2018 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry.  Fr. Charles Tichacek, pastor of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Elsberry, will officiate.

Mr. Simpson, 75, passed away Tuesday night, December 25, 2018 at Troy Manor in Troy, MO.  Born October 3, 1943 in Dayton, OH, he was the son of Albert and Leatrice Rae Blaine Simpson.  Dennis was united in marriage on May 14, 1983 in St. Louis, MO to Sally Ann Rossell.  He was employed as a buyer for American Airlines, retiring in 2005.  Dennis was a member of the Masonic Lodge and Scottish Rite.

Dennis was preceded in death by his father, Albert Simpson; and one grandson, Alex Simpson.

Survivors include his beloved wife of 35 years, Sally Simpson of Elsberry; one son, Dennis Gregory Simpson of Elsberry; two daughters: Leeann Wood and her partner, who was a lifelong friend of Dennis’, Bill Geerling, of St. Peters, MO, and Diana Bechtel and her husband, Clint, of Troy, MO.  Dennis also leaves his mother, Leatrice Kansteiner of Troy; four grandchildren: Amanda Reine, Bobbi Bechtel, Celena Simpson and Keira Simpson; other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held from 12:00 noon until the time of Memorial Services at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, December 29, 2018 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry.  Memorials may be made to Shriner’s Hospital for Children in care of Carter-Ricks Funeral Home, 107 S. 5th Street; Elsberry, MO 63343.
