Obituary of Esthol Lawrence Emerick

Funeral Services for Esthol Lawrence Emerick of O’Fallon, MO will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, December 14, 2018 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry, MO.  Rev. Floyd Gudde, pastor of the Elsberry United Methodist Church, will officiate with burial in the Elsberry City Cemetery near Elsberry.  Serving as pallbearers will be Joe Rogers, Mike Rogers, Rick Beckman, Gerald Beckman, Steve Damron and Jeff Damron.

Mr. Emerick, 92, passed away Sunday afternoon, December 9, 2018 at Jonesburg Nursing and Rehab in Jonesburg, MO.  Born November 7, 1926 in Hamburg, IL, he was the son of Lawrence Richard and Goldie Z. Tolbert Emerick.  Esthol served his country in the United States Navy from January 5, 1945 until he was honorably discharged on July 16, 1946; and again from November 10, 1950 until March 12, 1952.  During his service, he was a fireman on Destroyer Escorts.  He was united in marriage on August 3, 1946 in Elsberry to Laura Eleanor Damron.  Esthol worked as an aircraft mechanic for McDonnell Douglas Aircraft, retiring on January 31, 1989.  He was a member of IAM Local #837. 

Esthol was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Goldie Emerick; his sister, Elsie Treece; and his beloved wife, Laura Damron-Emerick.
 

Survivors include many nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Funeral Services at 1:00 p.m. Friday, December 14, 2018 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry.  Memorials may be made to Heartland Hospice (or) The Alzheimer’s Association in care of Carter-Ricks Funeral Home, 107 S. 5th Street; Elsberry, MO 63343.
