Obituary of Howard Junior White

Funeral Services for Howard Junior White of Elsberry, MO, formerly of Savannah, TN, will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 9, 2018 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield, MO. Pastor Jacob Shinn of Mid-America Baptist Church of Winfield will officiate with burial in Whispering Winds Cemetery near Winfield. Serving as pallbearers will be Chris LaBanca, Chad White, Nathan White, Payton White, Karson White and Tiah Holmes; and honorary pallbearers will be Robin Slaughter, Jaimie Pruitt, Kylene Tierney and Samantha Foster.
Mr. White, 81, passed away early Saturday morning, October 6, 2018 at St. Joseph Health Center in St. Charles, MO. Born June 28, 1937 in Silva, MO, he was the son of Leonard William and Clara Ideana Evens White. He was united in marriage on October 1, 1955 in Lilbourn, MO to Frankie Dolores Highland. This union was blessed with five children: Pamela, Anthony, Tammy, Debbie and Gregg. Howard was employed by McDonnell Douglas aircraft manufacturer as a paint specialist for 36 years, retiring on June 28, 1992. Howard was a member of the machinist union, IAM, Local #837 in St. Louis. Following his retirement, Howard and Frankie enjoyed fishing, camping and spending time with the grandchildren. His pride and joy was his 1979 Dodge pickup, “Ole Blue”. He was a member of Marinatha Baptist Church in Troy, MO.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Clara White; one son, Anthony Lynn White on February 25, 1961; five sisters: Dorothy White, Bettie White, Ovalean Allen, Rosie Highland and Freida Bosley; and four great-grandchildren: Kayden LaBanca, Abigail Foster, Quinn Foster and Zayin Morris.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 63 years, Frankie White of Elsberry; four children: Pamela LaBanca and her husband, Leslie, of Foley, MO, Tammy Morris and her husband, Kenneth, of Elsberry, Debbie White of Wright City, MO, and Gregg White and his wife, Tammy, of Troy, MO; 13 grandchildren: Christopher Dale LaBanca, Robin Gale Slaughter, Jaimie Suzanne Pruitt, Kylene Dawn Tierney, Samantha Lynn Foster, Tiah Shanise Holmes, Chad Eric White, Nathaniel Allen White, Payton Anthony White, Karson GregoryWhite, Erica Scella Lambert, Kelly Angelica Raines and Ashley Nicole Morris; and 30 great-grandchildren. Howard also leaves one sister, Ruby Jean Wade of New Madrid, MO; several nieces, nephews, in-laws, other relatives and many friends.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. Monday, October 8, 2018 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield. Memorials may be made to the Parkinson’s Foundation in care of
