Obituary of Keith Walter Burkemper

A Memorial Mass for Keith Walter Burkemper of Old Monroe, MO will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 12, 2018 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church near Old Monroe.  Father Richard Rath, church pastor, will officiate, with a private inurnment at a later date in Immaculate Conception Cemetery. 

           
Mr. Burkemper, 62, passed away Saturday afternoon, September 8, 2018 near Old Monroe.  Born September 15, 1955 in St. Louis, MO, he was the son of David and Virginia Scott Burkemper.  He was a 1973 graduate of St. Dominic High School in O'Fallon, MO.  Keith was united in marriage on May 1, 1976 in Josephville, MO to Carol M. Eisenbath, daughter of Urban and Irene Eisenbath.  This union was blessed with three children: Kimberly, Andrew and Melinda.  He was employed for many years as a union residential and commercial carpenter, retiring in 2010.  Keith was a devoted member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and the Old Monroe Knights of Columbus.  He enjoyed hunting and fishing, pitching horseshoes, playing golf and euchre, woodworking and following St. Louis sports.  Above all, he was a dedicated community servant and family man, whose life was anchored in love for his wife, children and grandchildren.

           
He was preceded in death by his father, David Burkemper, one granddaughter, Juliana Pinto and one nephew, Airman 1st Class Jesse Samek.

           
Survivors include his beloved wife of 42 years, Carol Burkemper of Old Monroe; his children: Kimberly Pinto and her husband, Shawn, of Roswell, GA, Andrew Burkemper and his wife, Kelsey of Brentwood, MO, and Melinda Gray and her husband, Cody, of St. Peters, MO; and seven grandchildren: Nicholas, Grace, Henry and Samuel Pinto, Asher Burkemper, and Connor and Matthew Gray.  Keith also leaves his mother, Virginia Burkemper of O’Fallon, MO; four sisters: Susan Chilton and her husband, Jim, of Rogersville, MO, Julie Samek and her husband, Gavin, of Warrenton, MO, Beth Runge and her husband, Kevin, of St. Paul, MO, and Molly Abshear of St. Peters; several in-laws, cousins, other relatives and many friends.
