Obituary of Joan I Fines

Joan I. Fines, 84, was born in Elsberry, Missouri in November 1933 and passed away in July 2018. She was the daughter of Cecil & Irene (Halsema) Fines of Broadway Extension, Elsberry, Missouri. Joan was married to Harold Spence, and Warren Miller. She was the mother of Alan, Cecil, Daryl, Debra, and Karen; grandmother of Jason, Nicole, Christopher, Christina, Ashley, Stephanie, Shelby, and Travis; and great grandmother of Gage, Kaitlyn, John, and Olin. Joan is predeceased by Harold Spence, Warren Miller, Alan, Debra, and Jason.

Joan loved being around people. Her occupations were bookkeeper for printing companies and a wholesale club, data entry supervisor, waitress, and elderly day care companion. Joan’s favorite activity was anything with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren – most recently on Mother’s Day for a four generation get together and multi-generational photograph. Joan’s favorite hobbies and volunteering were gardening, sewing, crocheting, knitting stocking caps for newborns, sorting food donations at the local food bank, and transporting elderly neighbors to their medical appointments.

Graveside service will be held on Saturday, September 1, 2018 at 8:25 AM in the Elsberry City Cemetery at Cecil and Irene Fines grave site.
