Obituary of Gary Edwin Hagemeier
Memorial Services for Gary E. Hagemeier of Elsberry, MO will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 18, 2018 at the Elsberry ARPresbyterian Church. Rev. Conrad Cheatham, church pastor, and Rev. Kris Hagemeier of the First Christian Church in Elsberry will officiate.
Mr. Hagemeier, 70, passed away Thursday evening, August 9, 2018 at Gamma Road Lodge in Wellsville, MO. Born August 11, 1947 in Louisiana, MO, he was the son of Lester Frederick and Kathryn W. Uptegrove Hagemeier. Gary was a 1965 graduate of Elsberry High School. He served his country in the United States Army from December 12, 1967 until he was honorably discharged on September 12, 1969. Gary was united in marriage on November 3, 1973 in Elsberry to Marlene Diane “Sam” McKeever. This union was blessed with three daughters: Lisa, Leslie and Lori. He was a self-employed farmer. Gary enjoyed hunting and frying the fish he caught. Gary often passed the time attending auctions.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Lester and Kathryn Hagemeier; one brother-in-law, John Roche; one sister-in-law, Ann Kuhn; one nephew, Derrick Henry; and one niece, Sheila Moellman.
Survivors include his beloved wife of nearly 45 years, Marlene “Sam” Hagemeier; their daughters: Lisa Goetsch and her husband, Howard, of Elsberry, Leslie Martin and her husband, Tony, of Elsberry and Lori Talleur and her husband, Dustin, of O’Fallon, MO; and eight grandchildren: Colby Martin and his girlfriend, Nicole Lee, Elizabeth Like, Caylee Martin, Austin Like, Clayton Martin, Carson Talleur, Wyatt Kirt and Levi Talleur. Gary also leaves two sisters: Judy Henry and her husband, Warren, and Sandra Prater and her husband, Darrel, all of Elsberry; two sisters-in-law, Patricia Roche of New Melle, MO and Maureen McKeever of Elsberry; one brother-in-law, George Kuhn of Lake Ozark, MO; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Memorial Services at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 18 2018 at the Elsberry ARPresbyterian Church in Elsberry. Memorials may be made to the Family of Gary Hagemeier in care of Carter-Ricks Funeral Home, 107 S. 5th Street; Elsberry, MO 63343.
