Obituary of ~~~~Melissa Sandra Poppleton

Funeral Services for Melissa Sandra “Sandy” Poppleton of O’Fallon, MO will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, July 20, 2018 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield, MO.  Brian Womack will officiate with burial in New Salem Cemetery near Winfield.  Serving as pallbearers will be J.D. Vickers, Mark Ryker, Zack Evans, Darren Boschert, Mike Schmidt and Steven Hankins.

           
Sandy, 65, passed away Tuesday evening, July 17, 2018 at her home.  Born January 15, 1953 in St. Louis, MO, she was the daughter of Charles V.D. and Ianes Ailene Klein Orick.  She was blessed with four children: Melissa, Joy Lenn, Steven and Michael.  Sandy was a loving housewife.

           
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Ianes Orick; one brother, Gary Orick; one granddaughter, Corie Gene Baldwin; and one great-granddaughter, Aurora Jozelynn Poppleton-Hasenfratz.

           
Survivors include her children: Mitzy Vickers and her husband, J.D. of O’Fallon, Jody Evans and her husband, Rodger, of Winfield, Steven Hankins and his wife, Tabby, of Troy, MO and Michael Schmidt and his wife, Mary, of Cincinnati, OH; thirteen grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.  Sandy also leaves five siblings: Bob Orick and his wife, Pat, of O’Fallon, Dianne Ary of Montgomery City, MO, Charlotte Miskell and her husband, Blane, of Granite City, IL, Marlene Manner of Warrenton, MO and David Orick and his wife, Tina, of Montgomery City; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

           
Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Funeral Services at 2:00 p.m. Friday, July 20, 2018 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield.  Memorials may be made to The Family of Melissa “Sandy” Poppleton in care of Carter-Ricks Funeral Home, 3838 East Highway 47, P.O.
