Obituary of James Delmore Morgan

 

Funeral Services for James Delmore Morgan of Winfield, MO will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 10, 2018 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Winfield.  Rev. Mike Ryan, pastor of the First Baptist Church of Winfield will officiate with burial in Whispering Winds Cemetery near Winfield.  Serving as pallbearers will be Scott Ravenscraft, Rusty Simpson, Justin Miller, Matt Hudzik, Harold Pulley and Steven Simpson.

           

Mr. Morgan, 79, passed away Wednesday night, July 4, 2018 at SSM St. Joseph Hospital in Lake St. Louis, MO.  Born July 5, 1938 in Olive Branch, IL, he was the son of Cecil and Lenora Holmes Morgan.  James served his country in the United States Air Force.  He was united in marriage on October 1, 1965 in Cahokia, IL to Judith Jean Parker.  This union was blessed with two daughters: Kimberli and Elizabeth.  James worked as a lineworker for General Motors, retiring in 2004.  He was a member of the UAW Local #282.

           

He was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil and Lenora Morgan; one brother, Bob Morgan; and his beloved wife of 50 years, Judith Morgan, who died April 25, 2016.

           

Survivors include two daughters: Kimberli Simpson and her husband, Russell, and Elizabeth Ravenscraft and her husband, Scott, all of Winfield; six grandchildren: Amber Hudzik, Tashua Chiodini, Steven Simpson, Taylor Simpson, Alexandra Miller and George Ravenscraft; and six great-grandchildren.  James also leaves one brother, John Morgan of Granite City, IL; five sisters: Pauline Pierce of Fenton, MO, Betty Holloway of Granite City, Shirley Pulley, also of Granite City, Sharon VanZant and her husband, Mike, of Cumberland City, TN and Ina Wright and her husband, Tony, of Lancaster, CA; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

           
Visitation will be held from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. Monday, July 9, 2018 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Winfield.  Memorials may be made to The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research in care of Carter-Ricks Funeral Home , 3838 East Highway 47, P.O. Box 253, Winfield, MO 63389.
