Obituary of Charles Griffaw III
Visitation for Charles Griffaw III will be held from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. Thursday, June 21, 2018 at
Charlie, 61, passed away Monday evening, June 18, 2018 surrounded by his family at his home in Winfield. Born August 23, 1956 in St. Louis, MO, he was the son of Charles and Estel Germaine Schoreck Griffaw II. Charlie worked as an Ironworker for BR Building. He was united in marriage on August 25, 2000 in Troy, MO to Judymae Anna Thomas. Together they shared many adventures. Charlie enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle. Charlie’s greatest enjoyment was his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Estel Griffaw II; three sisters: Scherry Griffaw, Germaine “Tiny” Jefferies and Theresa Ragland; and one brother-in-law, Raymond Piechoinski.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 17 years, Judymae Griffaw of Winfield; one son, Charles Griffaw IV and his wife, Windy, of De Soto, MO; two step-children: Ida Trehan (Thomas) and her husband, Jim, of Ashland, MO and Stephen Carl of St. Charles, MO; his grandchildren: Cory, Kayla, Heather, Halley, Austin and Ashley; and his great-grandchildren: Adelyn, Parker, Katelyn and Kai. Charlie also leaves four sisters: Wanda “Katy” Piechoinski of Elsberry, MO, Elizabeth Griffaw Dunn of Vandalia, IL, Mary Jane Jayroe and her husband, Calvin, of Lago Vista, TX and Julia Huffman of Louisville, KY; two brothers-in-law: Paul Jefferies of Louisville and Danny Ragland of Fredericksburg, TX; 25 nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends, including his special friend, Donnie Yates, Jr. of Winfield.
