Obituary of William Arthur Yokel

Funeral Services for William Arthur “Bill” Yokel of Elsberry, MO will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 12, 2018 at the Star Hope Baptist Church near Elsberry.  Rev. Roger Briggs, church pastor, will officiate with burial in the Elsberry City Cemetery near Elsberry.  Serving as pallbearers will be Bob Kindred, Donnie Kinsler, Jerry Wagner, Bob Bonney, Wayne Gohoff and Bob Day.
 

Mr. Yokel, 71, passed away Saturday morning, June 9, 2018 at St. Joseph Hospital in St. Charles, MO.  Born December 19, 1946 in St. Louis, MO, he was the son of George H. and Florence Kathryn Litzinger Yokel.  He was a 1964 graduate of Greenville High School in Greenville, MO.  Bill was united in marriage on August 27, 1965 in Poplar Bluff, MO to Patricia Ann Sheets.  This union was blessed with one daughter, Billie Ann.  He was employed for many years as a tool & die manager for McDonnell-Douglas Aircraft manufacturer in St. Louis, retiring in November, 2006.  Bill was an avid hunter and fisherman.  He and his family were longtime members of the Star Hope Baptist Church near Elsberry.
 

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, George and Florence Yokel; two brothers, George Yokel and Gary Yokel; and one brother-in-law, Jackie Shields.
 

Survivors include his beloved wife of nearly 53 years, Pat Yokel of Elsberry and their daughter, Billie Ann Yokel.  Bill also leaves one brother, Melvin Yokel of Missouri; one sister, Yvonne Shields of Temple, TX; two sisters-in-law, Coletta Yokel of Elsberry, and Glenda Yokel of Greenville, MO; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Monday, June 11, 2018 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry.  Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association in care of Carter-Ricks Funeral Home, 107 S. 5th Street; Elsberry, MO 63343.
