Obituary of Rosemary Palmer

Rosemary Palmer

 

            Funeral Services for Rosemary Palmer of Old Monroe, MO, formerly of Elsberry, MO, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 29, 2018 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry.  Rev. Aaron Jeffries, pastor of Calvary Baptist Church in O’Fallon, MO will officiate with burial in Elsberry City Cemetery.  Serving as pallbearers will be Clarence “Skip” Palmer, Matthew Palmer, Jacob Palmer, David Heskett, Alan Abner and Roy LeBlanc.

 

            Mrs. Palmer, 88, passed away Friday afternoon, May 25, 2018 at the Elsberry Health Care Center near Elsberry.  Born July 22, 1929 in St. Louis, MO, she was the daughter of Ernst and Emma Schepp Geiger.  She was united in marriage on June 20, 1947 in St. Louis to Gene Taylor Palmer.  This union was blessed with two children: Kathy Ann and Clarence Eugene “Skip”.  Rosemary worked for many years as a sales associate in the landscape department at Forrest Keeling Nursery near Elsberry.  She was a longtime member of Calvary Baptist Church in O’Fallon, MO.

 

            She is preceded in death by her parents, Ernst and Emma Geiger; one brother, Emil Lehnen, one sister, Margaret Lehnen; and her beloved husband, Gene Palmer, who died December 16, 1987.

 

            Survivors include her children:  Kathy Braswell and her husband, Lester, of Dardene Prairie, MO, and Clarence “Skip” Palmer and his wife, Laura, of Winfield, MO; six grandchildren: April Braswell, Michele Abner and her husband, Alan, Victoria Heskett and her husband, David, Amanda Braswell, Matthew Palmer and Jacob Palmer; six great-grandchildren: Ryan Braswell, Briana Braswell, Aaron Braswell, Corey King and his wife, Jessica, Kassandra King, and Christopher Storm; and one great, great-grandchild, Arthur King.  She also leaves several nieces, nephews, several other relatives and many friends.

 

            Visitation will be held from 4:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m. Monday, May 28, 2018 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry.  Memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital in care of Carter-Ricks Funeral Home; 107 South Fifth Street, Elsberry, MO 63343.  Online condolences may be made at www.carterrickfuneralhome.com .
