Carter Ricks Funeral Home Phone 573-898-2181 / Fax 573-898-3148 Newspaper Notice of Death Thomas Willis Bury, Jr. Memorial services for Thomas Willis Bury, Jr. of Old Monroe, MO were held at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 10, 2006 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield, MO. Rev. Scott Groshong, pastor of Corinth Christian Church in Foley, MO officiated the service. Mr. Bury, 79, died early Friday morning, May 5, 2006 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Peters, MO. Born February 27, 1927 in Pacific, MO, he was the son of the late Thomas Willis, Sr. and Mamie Hardy Bury. He served his country in the U.S. Navy from January 19, 1944 until being honorably discharged on June 5, 1946. He was united in marriage on October 14, 1946 to Helen "Lou" Louise Caldwell. This union was blessed with three sons: Rick, Bruce and Michael. He was employed for 20 years as a machine operator for James River in St. Louis, MO until retiring in 1989. He was a member of the Graphic Communications International Union Local #505 in St. Louis, MO. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas, Sr. and Mamie Bury; two sons: Bruce Thomas who passed away in 1988 and Michael Wayne who passed away in 1994; one half-brother, Carl Mathews; and one sister, Martha Panagos. Survivors include his beloved wife of 59 years, Helen "Lou" Bury; one son, Rick Bury and his wife, Tammie, of Foley, MO; one sister, Rita Braloski of Arnold, MO; one granddaughter, Angel Queen and her husband, Joey, of Gastonia, NC; three great-grandchildren: Cheltsee, Daisy May and Morgan Queen; several nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends Visitation was held was 5:00 p.m. until time of service, Wednesday, May 10, 2006 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield, MO.
