Obituary of Kenneth William Reller
A Mass of Christian Burial for Kenneth William Reller of Old Monroe, MO will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, March 23, 2018 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church near Old Monroe. Fr. Richard Rath, church pastor, will officiate with burial in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Mark Reller, Tom Reller, Adam Reller, Rick Bampton, Robert Bampton and Rodney Bampton.
Mr. Reller, 89, passed away Saturday evening, March 17, 2018 at his home near Old Monroe. Born October 4, 1928 in the Ethlyn Community near Old Monroe, he was the son of Leo and Wilhelmina “Minnie” Hoelting Reller. Kenny served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War from February 7, 1951 until his honorable discharge on September 5, 1956. Kenny was united in marriage on August 1, 1964 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Josephville, MO to Bonnie Lou Wilmes. This union was blessed with two children: Dennis and Debra. A love for agriculture, Kenny was a farmer and worked as a salesman for Sydenstricker and Moore; and later as a Federal Crop Insurance Salesman for Midwest Crop Insurance, retiring in 2015. Kenny was a member and Past Commander of American Legion Post #420 in Old Monroe and of the Old Monroe Knights of Columbus. He was a longtime member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Old Monroe, where he was a member of the Men’s Sodality.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Minnie Reller; his brothers: Jerry Reller and his wife, Collette, Charles Reller, Leo Reller and his wife, Betty, and Victor Reller.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 53 years, Bonnie Reller of Old Monroe; their children: Dennis Reller and his wife, Liz, of Dardenne Prairie, MO and Debra Reller of Fenton, MO; and three grandchildren: Kenneth, Christian and Grace. Kenny also leaves his sister-in-law, Dolly Reller of O’Fallon, MO; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Thursday, March 22, 2018 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield, MO and again from 9:00 a.m. until the time of Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. Friday, March 23, 2018 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.
