I first met Larry in Little League baseball while his family lived in New Hampton. And, shortly they moved to Bethany where we played sports together through high school. Even then, it was clear that Larry loved life and people; and that was surely the reason he was elected student body president! I reconnected with Larry when I went to Mizzou in the fall of '66. After graduation, I went into the Army, moved to Atlanta, GA, and joined the Atlanta Jaycees. When the Atlanta Jaycees were bidding to host the National Convention, I called Larry to ask his help with our bid since he was National VP at the time. After confirming we were working through our state organization, he gave us is full support -- and we won the bid, Larry saying that old friendships still counted a lot! From Larry's obit, I learned that his habit of helping others never flagged! But, that's exactly what I would have expected! We will keep your family in our prayers and know that Larry is resting in the arms of another of his old friends now! God bless!

I worked with Larry during his time with SCORE. I quickly came to know him as a self-less professional who was truly dedicated to helping others. He was a key leader in our St. Charles operation, widely respected and loved by all who knew him. As a member of the executive committee he also provided guidance and leadership for the entire SCORE operation in the larger St. Louis metro area. We will miss Larry very much. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family at this very sad time.

Prayers to you, Ingrid and the family. May you be lifted up knowing Larry is in a better place and watching over the ones he left behind until you meet again. May your heart be lifted up with the precious memories you shared together as husband and wife and mother and father. I hope in some way the memories, friends and family will help you heal your broken heart.

God introduced us. We met through Cursillo. And for the next 35 years we prayed together, played together, laughed and laughed together, and yes, when life gave us tough challenges, we cried together. Mostly, we embraced life together. The gift of their friendship has been one of God’s greatest blessings on us. And I bet there is a long list of friends and relatives that feel the same way.
To us, for all these years, LarryIngrid is one word. Together they have this gigantic heart, that listens and cares and makes you feel better. They exude love to one another and their friends and family and make us more caring loving people because of their example. They work harder, longer, and don’t complain about whatever needs to be done. They are there to help. Life gave them some bumps, but God gave them the love and grace and dedication to come through whatever was before them, while helping the rest of us.
Godparents wasn’t just a title when Meagan and Sonja were baptized. To LarryIngrid it was a lifetime commitment to those little babies, to their milestones, birthdays, graduations, and highs and lows. LarryIngrid was always available for a heart to heart chat and a laugh to go with it. LarryIngrid always found the time to talk to them and participate in their lives. As the girls now reach their 20’s and 30’s, that age that they are asked to be godparents, they have LarryIngrid’s most sterling example of performing God’s mission.
LarryIngrid isn’t dead, it is in another form. Part of what we were able to see and hear is now in our hearts and sneaks out as a giggle, as we remember a funny time or joke we shared. That will never leave us.
Ingrid, who we can still see, is teaching us about strength and love and kindness in her hardest challenge yet. Our hearts ache for her. But watch her and listen. With each sentence, she tells us something good she has found in this pain. The same God that introduced us is speaking to us about a greater life to come.
Love you so much Ingie!

One of the funniest guys we’ve ever had the pleasure of calling our friend. He was always the life of the party no matter what type of event he was at; & you could always find a “Weeball” grouping around him bent over laughing. Larry had a heart the size of Texas not only for friends and family but also for his employees and fellow human beings. So, it is no surprise that after retirement he chose to volunteer his time to help others and also selected the memorials that speak volumes about the type of individual he was. The world will never be the same without you, my friend.,,but we cherish every memory and are forever blessed that are lives included you.
Hugs and prayers Ingrid, for you and your family!
