Carter-Ricks Funeral Homes Phone 573-898-2181 / Fax 573-898-3148 Newspaper Notice of Death Robert Max Woods Funeral services for Robert Max Woods, of Elsberry, MO were held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 25, 2006 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry, MO. Rev. Raymond Doussard, chaplain of AmHeart Hospice, officiated the service with burial in Star Hope Cemetery near Elsberry, MO. Serving as pallbearers were Mike Powelson, Robert Gilbert, Vic Parsons, Lynn Parsons, Michael Maschmeier and Sonny Taylor. Honorary pallbearers were Stephen Gilbert, Kimmy Gilbert and Nikki Gilbert. Mr. Woods, 68, died late Wednesday evening, April 19, 2006 at Lincoln County Medical Center in Troy, MO. Born February 1, 1938 in Scotland County, MO, he was the son of the late Robert Randolph and Nellie Ellen Rockwell Woods. He was a 1955 graduate of Scotland County High School in Memphis, MO. He was united in marriage on May 24, 1959 in Bible Grove, MO to Rosalyn Farris. This union was blessed with four children: Lorance Lynn, Richard Wayne, James David and Rebecca Ann. He was employed for many years as a deputy sheriff for the Lincoln County Sheriff's Department in Troy, MO, until retiring in April 2000. He was a member of the Star Hope Baptist Church in Elsberry. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Nellie Woods; his in-laws, Neale and June Farris; and one infant grandson, Colt Alan Woods. Survivors include his beloved wife of almost 47 years, Rosalyn Woods of Elsberry; three sons: Lorance Lynn Woods and his wife, Sherrie, of Powell, WY, Richard Wayne Woods and his wife, Debra, of O'Fallon, MO, James David Woods and his wife, Shanon, of Boone, IA; one daughter, Rebecca Ann Maschmeier and her husband, Michael, of Camp Pendleton, CA; one brother, Edwin Lee Woods and his wife, Norma, of Memphis, MO; ten grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Visitation was held from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Monday, April 24, 2006 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry.
