Obituary of Grover "Dennis" Pilcher

Memorial gathering and military honors for Grover “Dennis” Pilcher of Elsberry, MO will be held from 1:00-5:00 p.m. with a Memorial Prayer at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, December 12, 2017 at The American Legion, Post #226 in Elsberry, Missouri, MO.  Presenting military honors at 4:00 p.m. will be the American Legion Post #420 from Old Monroe, MO, and the Missouri Military Honors Program of Jefferson Barracks, MO. 

Mr. Pilcher, 65, passed away peacefully on Friday night, December 8, 2017 with his wife and children by his side.  Born October 17, 1952 in Lafayette LA, he was the son of Louis Preston and Jane Elizabeth Pilcher, Sr.  Dennis was a 1971 graduate of Southwood High School.  Dennis served his country in the United States Army from September 21, 1973 until he was honorably discharged on September 14, 1976 as SPC.  He was united in marriage on July 26,1980 in Troy, MO to Carolyn Louise Lagemann.  This union was blessed with four children:  Nicholas, Colleen, Bryan and Sarah.  Dennis loved meat shoots and fishing.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Jane Pilcher, Sr.

Survivors include his beloved wife of 37 years, Carolyn Pilcher of Elsberry; their children: Nicholas Pilcher and his wife, Erin, of Nashville, TN, Colleen Pilcher of Wright City, MO, Bryan Pilcher and his fiance, Kerry Hunt, of Union, MO and Sarah Weber and her husband, Kenny, of Wright City; and six grandchildren: Seth Clemonds, Kaiden Pilcher, Catherine Rossa, Owen Pilcher, Penelope Weber and Scarlett Weber.  Dennis also leaves one brother, Louis “Skipper” Pilcher of Shreveport; two sisters: Annie Pilcher-Barnhill and her husband, David, of Shreveport and Amy Brackin and her husband, Danny of Sarepta, LA; many nieces, nephews, inlaws, other relatives and friends.
