Carter-Ricks Funeral Homes Phone 573-88-2181 / Fax 573-898-3148 Newspaper Notice of Death Kenneth Langston Funeral services for Kenneth Langston of Elsberry, MO were held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 26, 2006 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry. Rev. Jeff Fernberg, pastor of the Elsberry First Baptist Church, officiated with burial in the Elsberry City Cemetery in Elsberry. Mr. Langston, 90, died Friday afternoon, April 21, 2006 at his home near Elsberry. Born June 26, 1915 in Leachville, AR, he was the son of Theodore and Sadie Langston. A veteran of World War II, he served in the U.S. Army from February 11, 1941, until being honorably discharged on November 29, 1944. He was united in marriage on July 2, 1965 in St. Louis, MO to Lois LaVerne Jannsen. He was employed for many years in Iron Manufacturing, retiring in 1978. He was preceded in death by his parents, Theodore and Sadie Langston; and his beloved wife of almost 27 years, Lois Langston, who died April 6, 1992. Survivors include two sisters: Luvey Clark of Rockford, IL, and Girdie Barr of Ohio; one sister-in-law, Ivy Lee Langston; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Visitation was held from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 25, 2006 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry. Memorials may be made to the Charity of the Donor's Choice in care of Carter-Ricks Funeral Home, 107 South Fifth Street, Elsberry, MO 63343.
